The start: Who am I? - A biblical perspective

The world has some awful things to say about us if we will listen.

That we aren't good enough. Not enough this, not enough that.

But what does God say?

Here a few scriptures that I have found about what God says about us.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well." - Psalm 139:14 (NIV)

"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do." - Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)

"Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." - Philippians 1:6 (NIV)

"I can do all this through him who gives me strength." - Philippians 4:13 (NIV)

The world can be a harsh place. The devil loves to have us question who we are, if we are good enough, and that we have all these excuses of why we can't fulfill God's promises of living an abundant life through Christ (John 10:10).

But....

Hebrews 12:1-2 Since we are surrounded by so many examples [of faith], we must get rid of everything that slows us down, especially sin that distracts us. We must run the race that lies ahead of us and never give up. We must focus on Jesus, the source and goal of our faith. He saw the joy ahead of him, so he endured death on the cross and ignored the disgrace it brought him. Then he received the highest position in heaven, the one next to the throne of God.

So when I find myself thinking about situations in a negative light that goes against who God says I am - these are some verses that I choose to dwell on.

I hope these verses help you too.
